Unimat Light Cutting

“True Turning Techniques” are easily accomplished on the Unimat. The Picture above shows the finishing cut along the Longitudinal Feed, using a ¼” bit. Note the relief on the bit giving the chips clearance. Often times as Hobbyists we us the wrong tool and do not attain desired finishes.

Unimat Heavy Cutting

Here is a nice picture of hogging on the Unimat. The operation above will be True and Round along the length. The use of the Face Plate, Dog, & Tail Stock create this “Ture Turning Technique”. Certain Feed Rates and RPM’s have much to with the precision of Metal Removal, as also the allowance for Finish Cuts.

4-Jaw Chuck

Independent Chucking can sometimes be a real bugger. With the patience of Centering as pictured here, or in some cases Off Centering. Creating Unique Shapes can be quite fun. And give the operator an enjoyable hobby
